I was born in South Korea and spent most of my life there. I studied Biology Education for an undergraduate and English Education for a graduate at Seoul National University in South Korea and worked in different fields. I have organized the largest outdoor festival in Korea for two years; I worked as an interpreter in English and Spanish on arts and culture; My hobby is dancing and listening to Argentine tango and salsa; and I have learned and performed Korean traditional dance wearing HANBOK (Korean traditional costume. Do you see the picture at the left top corner?).
After I moved to the states in late 2000's, I decided to pursue my long-time passion. I have loved language, math, culture, music and arts. I was exposed to computer science since 1985. So teaching Math and Computer science in English was a perfect fit. I taught math for 4 years (Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, IB Extended Math) and have switched to CTE world because I wanted to teach Computer Science in 2019, teaching APCSP, APCSA, Python, Javascript, and Game Development. I became a national-board certified teacher in 2020. I have received NCWIT award in 2020. I met my husband when he had an orchestra tour in Korea. We have been happily married and enjoy spending time together. We adopted Bella, a bullmastiff in 2020. I love reading books, playing piano, dancing salsa and tango. I teach piano lessons and tutor math (SAT, AP, IB) after school. |
